Tuneful Treasures: Discovering Musical Instruments in American Collections (Sigal Music Museum Distinguished Lecture Series, January 21, 2024).
An illustrated talk regarding how Kuronen came to be a museum curator and some of the interesting discoveries of instruments he made during his career.
A series of forty-four videos featuring musicians playing instruments from the MFA’s collection. Produced by Kuronen with five videos featuring him as a performer.
In 2012 Darcy Kuronen was cast as a costar with actress Debra Cooke in an independent film called Analogue. The film is in the post-production stage but will hopefully be released soon. In the words of director Alvin Case, the film combines domestic melodrama, science fiction, and classical music, inspired and built around Kuronen's participation in the project. A classically-trained keyboardist and former museum curator, Darcy proved to be a more than capable actor in his first dramatic role. The film's story is centered around a former musical prodigy and teacher who is haunted by the death of a student during his experiments with aural portraits, compositions derived from the electrical impulses of the human body.
